Paint Party Friday- August 5th & Weekly Challenge at Inspiration Avenue

Better late than never!  It's been a crazy week around here; with the birthday art party on Monday and then school starting on Tuesday....I feel like I've been running to catch up all week!  But here I am for Paint Party Friday, a little out of breath, but here nevertheless!
I just started working on my August page for Lisa's sketchbook- er box.  I'll take pictures of he box later, because it is VERY worth sharing, a work of art in itself!
I must admit, that August is not my favorite month- even with my son's birth being in there.....I don't like being hot, and in Georgia, August is HOT!  Though not nearly as bad as the folks in the midwest have had it!
Anyway, I decided to do a fragmented page with a sun goddess, landscape and some painted lettering.
The landscape portion is all I have done now (and it may not be done yet, I haven't decided!) But here it is:

I'm also using it for my Inspiration Avenue submission since the challenge this week was "trees".

Be sure to check out both links- tons of cool art to admire!
Toodles,
Stephanie

I agree with Regina, you are an amazingly talented artist! I'm not sure what the fragmented style is but from what I see here it's going to look soo cool! You need cool down there in Georgia! We've had heat advisories for many days in the past month, not real common for us but it usually hits 100 a time or two. The humidity gets us here too.

You have such great talent and love the idea of a fragmented picture. Look forward to seeing it complete as am sure it will be wonderful. Enjoy the weekend, Happy PPF, Annette x

Isn't it great when a plan comes together? Being able to use the tree for both links this week was fortuitous. I've seen several people say the same thing. Regardless, I love the beauty of this tree and I look forward to seeing the completed piece. I can only imagine what it will look like after the masking tape is removed.

I like the idea of fragmented - kind of makes a way to put related but different elements in one painting. Looking forward to more! Thanks for visiting and your kind comments.

Stephanie, this is so beautiful. The landscape is simple and so full at the same time. The colors you chose are so rich, just what I like. I love the sun goddess the way she looks at the moment - I'm pretty sure we will see more of her?
